American Bittersweet: (Calastrus scandens): Zones 3-8. A tangled climbing vine often found in fence rows. Produces clusters of orange pods used for decorations when dried.

Pachysandra: (Pachysandra terminalis): Zone 4-8. A carpeting plant that makes an interesting leaf pattern and has white spike flowers. Growing 6-8” high, does best in shaded areas.

Periwinkle: (Vinca minor): Zone 3-8. The hardiest of groundcovers, it has shiney leaves that stay green all year long. Lilac-blue flowers in spring, grows in shade where grass won't grow.

Trumpetvine: (Campsis radicans) Zone 4-9. Shrubby course foliage on vigorous vine will climb on stone or wood. Showy flowers mid summer attract hummers and butterflies.
